About Debra Pierce

Debra Pierce is an educator, CDA trainer, and Professional Development Specialist, and has served as a credentialing representative of the Council for Professional Recognition. She has has taught preschool, kindergarten, and first and second grade classrooms. She has also served as a parent educator in the national Parents as Teachers program.

She is currently professor of Early Childhood Education at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.

One of her interests includes early literacy and she serves on the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis chapter of First Book. For three years, Debra taught early childhood dual credit courses at a large metropolitan high school in Indianapolis, in association with Ivy Tech.

She has spent the past 14 years dedicated to the success of CDA candidates and hosts a website, offering help and support.

Mrs. Pierce is a frequent presenter at national and state early childhood conferences and also conducts workshops for early childhood instructors and child care providers across the country and is a Master Trainer for the states of Minnesota and Arizona. Debra is a contributing author for Hamilton County Family Magazine.
